Techne Staircase
A project that commemorates essential geometric design. An uncommon material for a unique sensory experience. Techne was selected by ADI Design to be published in the ADI Design Index 2008.Techne is the first spiral stair in the world made in technopolymer, a material fruit of research and experimentation.

Techne is a synonym of technology, research and design: three strong points of the entire projects. The material and the modularity of the project make Techne a stair that is adaptable to any environment.
Techne is created with a compound of polymers reinforced with fiber glass, and uses an injection printing technology, which allows to obtain a staircase whose structural performance remains unchanged in any climatic condition, although composed of a reduced number of components. The coloring directly in the mixture gives a color which is resistant to usage and to UV rays. A plastic material with a great mechanical resistance, with an elevated tenacity and an excellent shockproof resistance.
Result of an intense planning, research and development which brought to international patents, Techne is a return to the essential of design intended as project and exaltation of tactile material.
Its particular production technology in overprint, allows to obtain a tread with a non-slip surface created in only two pieces, a guarantee of great strength.
Techne is adaptable to different ceiling heights thanks to the mechanism which allows to vertically regulate the structure.
Techne railings are available in two different versions.
The Linear railing is composed of 20 mm diameter balusters in steel, varnished with epoxy powder, that support a plastic handrail with an aluminum core.
The Skin railing has 27 mm balusters (one for each tread) which are surrounded by a white high tech plastic fabric.
